With the kids at home, it’s important to keep coming up with creative ideas to keep them busy and active. And while going outside and riding bikes, or taking a hike are great, there will be moments in time that they’re going to just want to do something different. (or Mother Nature will keep them inside due to rain, etc.)
This is where having a super simple workout dice printable on hand can be a lifesaver and a great way to move their bodies and keep them active. (You can even join in on the fun as an adult, too!)
Crazy Simple Dice Workout For Kids
This isn’t really a new concept. A lot of places actually have workout dice that help to vary up the workouts every single day. But for kids, it’s going to have to be all about the fun. Using the dice makes it more into a game for them and less about “exercising” and moving their body.
The best part? All you have to do is gather up some dice, and let the kids take turns rolling and seeing what they get. They’ll love the fact that it’s a surprise every time instead of “having” to do a workout just because they’re being directed to do so.
Materials needed for this fitness activity for kids:

- Dice
Literally, that’s it. As long as you have just a little bit of space in your house, or even outdoors, this workout activity can be done anywhere.
What can the kids expect from this dice workout?
It literally all depends on what they roll. This is what makes it so fun!
If they roll 1 – Stretch and touch their toes
If they roll 2 – See how many lunges they can do (give them a 20, 30, 45-second timer)
If they roll 3 – Dance or hula hoop for 5 minutes
If they roll 4 – See how many situps they can do (again, give them a 20, 30, 45-second timer)
If they roll 5 – Do 15 jumping jacks
If they roll 6 – Run in place while counting to 30
Before getting started, decide how many times each kiddo gets to roll the dice so it’s even. The more they roll, the more working out and exercising they’re going to do! (and as you can see there is even some counting involved as well)
This activity is a great way to keep their bodies and minds active.

We’ve printed out ours and have it hanging on our fridge so it’s a reminder to do it every single day. (and somedays, we do it a couple of times)
Add some fun into the dice workouts
You can even switch it up a bit and give them the chance to roll two dice at one time and see if they get “snake eyes”. This could be a “free choice” of whatever they want to have everyone do in the house for movements such as a race outside, a handstand competition, or even a yoga session at home.
When it comes to getting the kids to move, this dice workout makes it a pain-free and totally fun process.
