Our latest travels to Florida had two things on our minds. Sandy beaches and blue water. Missouri winters are COLD, and we couldn’t wait to walk the beautiful beaches and spend some time in the sun. I can promise you that is what is often referred to as the “Forgotten Coast” won’t be forgotten by us anytime soon.
Since buying our 23-foot RV, we’ve learned a thing or two about what we look for when it comes to traveling. Since there are 4 of us with four very different personalities, our views of what camping should entail vary quite a bit.
However, there are a few things that we all look for when picking out an RV campground.
Overall, we’re looking for a quiet park with level RV sites that offer amenities for us all to explore. That’s not too much to ask, right?
This is why our latest camping trip to Freeport, Florida, had us loving our stay at Live Oak Landing RV Resort. It’s one of the best RV resorts we’ve stayed at, and you’ll see all our pictures and first-hand tips below!
While we were hosted on this trip, all thoughts and opinions are 100% our own.

Why You’ll Love Live Oak Landing RV Resort in Freeport, FL
When a camping trip goes as smoothly as ours did, it’s hard to find the perfect place to start. Everything was perfectly communicated from the moment that we booked our campsite to the moment that we checked in.
It’s safe to say that vacationing along the Emerald Coast is quite an experience in itself, but when you’re able to find the perfect choice to park your camper or RV for the week so you can relax and explore, it really is priceless.
Below are our top reasons why we loved our time camping at Live Oak Landing RV Resort. (in no particular order)

Easy access to the nearby beaches
Having nearby access just 10 minutes away to some of the best beaches in Florida was awesome. We could wander into town during the day and spend some time on the beach and then come back to our RV spot and night, where it was quiet and calm.

Electric hookups (plus water hookups and sewer hookups, too!)
Since our home was about 14 hours away from Live Oak Landing, it felt like a complete luxury to be able to camp with modern amenities. I know some people refer to this as “glamping,” but I choose to refer to it as a vacation.

The outdoor swimming pool stayed open until 9PM
For the kids, this was awesome. And since we were in Florida, there was no need for a heated pool at all. The pool was clean and had some really cool LED lights during the night time, making the pool change colors every few seconds.

This was a super cool feature for the kids, and they LOVED being able to go for a night swim as well.

Every campsite was large and level
You know what they say, right? “I’m sorry for what I said while I was trying to back up the camper.” And while it’s funny (and maybe a little bit true), leveling and maneuvering into the camping spots weren’t an issue at all.

The spots were large and easy to drive into, and each one had its own firepit and picnic table as well. Plus, there are mature trees all over the park that add a ton of great shade and beauty.

Instant fishing access
If you’re a fan of fishing, you’re in luck! There is a private boat ramp right there on-site for instant access to guests. (and guests only). Not only that, but the way Live Oak Landing is situated, you’ll have access to saltwater fishing AND freshwater fishing within a matter of moments.
The Choctawhatchee River offers fishing all along and then will take you out to the bay as well. Bring your fishing boat or opt for boat rental or canoe or kayak rentals to get out on the water to fish or paddle.

There is also a little fishing pier as well as a place to clean the fish that you caught for the day, too.

The river offers stunning views
There’s really nothing quite like a Florida sunset. You’ll have unobstructed views to look out over the water during the day and gaze up at the stars at night.
You’re located right on the Choctawhatchee Bay where you’ll have some of the best picture-perfect views.

No matter where we were at the RV resort, the sun and view were beautiful. You just can’t beat Florida sunsets.

There are rentals oPTIONS GALORE
Just because this is an RV resort doesn’t mean that you HAVE to have an RV to stay here. Beautiful resorts like this should be explored by all types of campers, so check out how you can stay even without bringing your camper along!

Florida’s warm weather is perfect for camping any way possible at this Florida RV park. Call and see what is available and book!
Enjoy the luxury amenities
While we enjoyed a lot of things about this RV resort, there were a few luxury amenities that stood out. One HUGE park amenity is that they had trash pick up two times a day. You just had to set out your trash by certain times, and they’d come back in golf carts and pick it up for you.
I also thought it was impressive that all spots are full hookup sites that come with complimentary wifi and cable. (I’d read a lot of reviews of other RV resorts that actually charge EXTRA fees for WiFi, and nobody has time for that.)
This resort RV park was really taken care of, too. The roads were all paved and clean and level, which means that the kids could bike around safely or be on their scooters without worry. No potholes anywhere to be found.

In the grassy area of the park, there is a nice playground area for the younger kids to enjoy as well. They’ve seriously thought of EVERYTHING to offer family fun.
Simple hiking trails for family fun
If you want to get out and walk around the campground for a short bit, there are a couple of areas that have nice level hiking trails that go along the river. They’re short and easy to use nature trails and make for beautiful views every step of the way.

There are multiple options to stay at Live Oak Landing
From the camping sites to the cottages, this campground is open to all. And even if you don’t have a camper, you can book a stay in one of the many cottages right on-site instead. These cute cabins are furnished, cute, colorful, and have amazing views as well.

All you literally have to do is pull up, park, and relax. That’s my kind of camping.
Bring along your fur babies
Don’t hesitate to bring along your pets! This RV resort is pet friendly, and we had a blast being able to stop and pet all the pups. You can even book cottages that are pet friendly while you’re there as well.
The “bark park” at this RV resort is large and a great place for the pups to run around and burn off some energy.

Plan to stay for a while
The great thing about camping at Live Oak Landing is that you can book extended stays in both the RV sites as well as the cabins.
This is perfect for snowbirds who are wanting to come and have a place to relax and get away from the cold for a few months at a time.

People come to this part of Florida for the awesome temps and sunshine, and this is why camping on the gulf coast is so popular. (seriously, the emerald waters are insane!)
You’re just a short 10 minutes from town
I actually LOVED this about camping at Live Oak Landing. While I enjoy being in the middle of all the tourists and the beach crowds, I was so happy to be able to head back to our RV site and relax in peace and quiet.
You could easily spend an afternoon in town renting bikes and riding the bike trails and then relax with a nice campfire under the stars at the end of the night.
There are so many recreational activities within 10 miles of this RV resort that it’s insane! Fill your week with a variety of activities, and then spend your nights in peace.

Enjoy the RV campground community building
This luxury camp resort offers CRAZY clean public bathrooms and washers and dryers on-site, but you can also use the community building as a place to relax.
There is a ping pong table to play games, books to borrow, a TV to watch, and even a separate kitchen area with a grill that is free and available to use to anyone staying there.

We got out of our camper for the night and made dinner on the grill, and it was such a great experience for us.
Close to the beach
You can easily take a trip into town and be at the beach in less than 30 minutes! This makes for the perfect easy day trip and then be able to come back, kick up your feet, and rest!
You can book stays at other RVC resorts thorughout the US
I can assure you that after staying here at this Freeport RV resort, you’re going to want to do more camping business with the RVC company. It’s apparent that they take pride in their company and all the offerings to their guests. (We’ve also stayed at their location in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and you can read all about that here!)
As you can see from this RV Resort view map, locations are scattered around the states! (and new locations are always popping up)

Updates and upgrades are currently happening!
While Live Oaks Landing is amazing as it is, this luxury resort refuses to stop making improvements for its guests.
Not only are they adding even more level and large RV sites (with wi-fi extenders everywhere for great internet coverage!), but they’re also adding another community building that is all about relaxation and peace.
(not even a week of rain off and on could put a damper on how awesome this RV park is – below are their newest camping spaces being added to be able to welcome more campers!)

In this newest community building addition, there are comfy chairs and a couch that will have you parking yourself for a bit without worry. We loved the color scheme that was used throughout and all the bright pops of color from the decor.

Everything flowed together perfectly, making it very eye-appealing. It will immediately make you want to sit and stay for a while.
Every little detail within the community building reminds you to just relax all and take it slow. (which is totally my kind of pace)

I could imagine myself in this area with my morning cup of coffee easily. Everything about this space is calming and peaceful.

Thankfully, that is what this addition is all about! Bring a book, a puzzle, or just sit on the porch with a nice glass of wine and enjoy the calmness and the beauty.

I told my husband that if I would have had my book with me, he would have been walking back to the RV alone, and I’d have been in this space below, feet up and immersed in the pages.

Not only is the community building a space to hang and chill, but it’s full of large and modern restrooms that are handicap accessible as well. And let’s just take a moment to appreciate the showers. They’re HUGE!
PLUS, in the men’s restroom, there is a baby changing station on the wall! (YES!!!!!)

The covered front porch is beautifully massive but welcoming at the same time. I loved the shade that it offered, with stunning views overlooking the property.

Everything at this camping resort is handicap accessible as well. It really is a place for everyone to be able to enjoy.

I totally think that the covered front porch would be a PERFECT location for a game of cards or a nice picnic lunch.
I love how it looks out over the campground but is still far enough back to feel secluded.

Live Oak Landing recently also added a new main office building to the front of the park to make it fast and convenient for guests to check in, check out, and stop and get their packages and mail.

The front reservations team is efficient and stellar at their jobs, and everyone there provides excellent customer service.
I have to give a shout-out to those who keep the resort clean. I NEVER saw any piece of trash or anything on the property the whole time we were there.
Live Oak Landing is one of the best year-round RV parks in Florida, seriously. If you’re looking for camping in Freeport, you can’t go wrong staying here. There may be other Freeport camping options out there, but why settle for anything else?
