All you need is some ice cream, a flavored soda or juice and the ability to follow directions and you’ll be enjoying this Ice Cream Cherry Sprite float.
When I find recipes that taste this good, I always wonder what genius decided that ice cream would taste good mixed with cherry soda. Don’t get me wrong…I’m not mad about it, I just find the combination interesting to “discover”.

When it comes to making a truly refreshing drink, there’s nothing soda and ice cream combined can’t solve! All you need for this simple homemade float recipe are these ingredients:
- Extra Large Punch Bowl
- 1 Liter of Cherry Sprite
- 1/2 a Gallon of Red Hawaiian Punch
- 4-5 Large Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
Seriously, just those 4 ingredients are all that’s needed. In no time at all, you’ll be slurping away!
Can you make this ice cream float with coke?
Of course. In all reality, you can try to make this simple float with any type of fizzy soda. Make certain it’s fresh so that it fizz’s up really well! That’s part of the fun of drinking an ice cream float!
Will the Sprite cause the ice cream to melt quickly?
Yes, the Sprite will cause the ice cream to melt quicker than normal unless you try and have it at a really cold temperature. If it ends melting the ice cream too soon for your liking, just add some more and enjoy!
Cherry Ice Cream Float
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
- 1 Extra Large Punch Bowl
- 1 Liter of Cherry Sprite
- 1/2 a Gallon of Red Hawaiian Punch
- 4-5 Large Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
- Start by filling your punch bowl just about halfway with Hawaiian Punch.
- Next, add in your Cherry Sprite.
- Mix, and add in your Vanilla Ice Cream scoops.
- Gently stir.
- Pour into mason jars.
- Top each glass with additions ice cream if desired.
- Serve and enjoy!
